WHO & WHAT: Join us for an IRL EVENT with journalist, Sonali Kohli as we celebrate her debut collection of stories, Don't Wait, which highlights Sonia Banker, Nalleli Cobo, + Kahlila Williams. Sonali will be joined in conversation with these three young women activists of color who are fighting for some of today's most pressing movements.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 4, 2024 @ 7pm PST (doors @ 6:30pm)

WHERE: In-Person at Rep Club in Los Angeles (3054 S. Victoria Ave LA, CA 90016)

      Sonali Kohli is a journalist writing about young people and the futures they are creating. Kohli was an education reporter for the Los Angeles Times for six years with a passion for covering youth movements and in 2020, was named the top education journalist in the nation by the Education Writers Association. She is currently a recruiter at URL Media, where she works with underrepresented folks in journalism and media to find jobs and workplaces that will treat them well.       Nalleli Cobo (she/her) is an environmental activist, storyteller and cancer survivor who had fought for more than a decade to protect communities from the impacts of urban oil drilling. She was named in the Time100Next list and has received the Goldman Environmental Prize.

      Kahlila Williams (she/her) is an activist who found to defund school police in LAUSD and continues to organize and advocate as part of Black Lives Matter LA. She is now a student of sociology and African American Studies at UCLA.

      Sonia Banker (she/her) advocated for equitable arts education in California’s public schools. She is currently studying Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
