WHO & WHAT:  An IRL EVENT with multidisciplinary artist and writer, mimi tempestt as we celebrate her debut poetry collection The Delicacy of Embracing Spirals. They will be joined by author, cultural worker + narrative strategist, Jade Daniels and editor, publishing company owner + creative educator, Sondria Bailey.

WHEN: Friday, November 3, 2023 @ 7pm PST (doors @ 6:30pm)

WHERE: In-Person at Rep Club in Los Angeles (3054 S. Victoria Ave LA, CA 90016)

      mimi tempestt (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and daughter of California. She has a M.A. in Literature from Mills College, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Creative/Critical Ph.D. in Literature at UC Santa Cruz. Her first book, the monumental misrememberings, was published with Co-Conspirator Press//The Feminist Center for Creative Work in 2020. In 2021, she was selected for participation in the Lambda Literary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices & Writers, and was a Creative Fellow at The Ruby in San Francisco. Her works can be found in Foglifter, Interim Poetics, and at the Studio Museum in Harlem. A native of Los Angeles, she currently resides in Berkeley, CA.


      Jade Daniels is an author, cultural worker, narrative strategist, and interdisciplinary artist currently based in Long Beach, California. Jade’s motivating force in her work is to create and contribute to generative spaces of healing, connection, story-telling, and culture- building with a focus on anti-imperial, anti-capitalist, global struggle specifically informed and centered by the labor and contributions of Black women, femmes, gender non- conforming and gender expansive people. 

       

      Sondria Bailey is an author, editor, publishing company owner, creative educator, and mom.  She conducts business from the Inland Empire of southern California, and is vehemently enthusiastic about Black folks recording and telling their own stories.
